I’m really excited about this new packet! It’s designed to help kids make 3-4 word sentences. For each sentence, there is a sentence strip and a picture that represents the entire sentence like this:

apple_on_plate

You can have your student make the sentence by pointing to the boxes and saying each word or piece of the sentence. If your student has difficulty with 4 word sentences, you can simplify the sentence so that one word goes with each box, like “apple on plate.” When your students master 4 word sentences you can add more words like “I have an apple on my plate.”

In this packet, there are 53 pages with 2 sentence strips and pictures on each page- that’s 106 sentences! Wow!

The sentences are broken into 9 different groups. All the sentences in each group follow a predictable pattern to encourage students to start making the sentences more independently by the end of the activity. In the example above, all the sentences in the group follow the pattern “_______ on my plate.” There are 10-12 sentences in each group. Here’s a detailed list of the sentences included:

12 sentences with the structure “_________ on my plate.”

12 sentences with the structure “_________ in my wagon.”

12 sentences with the structure “________ in the tree.”

12 sentences with the structure “__________ in the bathtub.”

12 sentences with the structure “__________on my desk.”

12 sentences with the structure “__________ holding ________.”

12 sentences with the structure “_________ in the sky.”

12 sentences with the structure “________ in the water.”

10 sentences with the structure “(color)___ ice cream on my cone.”

And here’s a couple more pictures of the sentences included:
